Cheap vs. Chic Beauty Products

Scarlet - 1

When and where to buy cheap vs. chic is the question; the answer is there are so many products and so little time so let me help you decide. I am Beauty School ScArlet – the Siskel and Ebert of all things beauty, I try before you buy. I am here to help you save money on the products that are right for you!!!

Hair Care is an area where you should always splurge. Don’t get me wrong, there are some low-priced hair care products that are good but you don’t want good, you want great. Some inexpensive hair care products have ingredients that are not suitable for the hair such as alcohol, sulfates and silicone. Your hair is your crown and glory so use products that will protect it, not strip and promote healthy hair. Ojon is the brand that has contributed to my healthy tresses!!!

Skincare is an area where I tend to use both economical and luxury. I have pretty good skin if I must say so myself…LOL. I have found that a lot of drug store brands have become savvier with ingredients so they can compete with department store brands. I love Origins and Boots. They have contributed to my healthy glowing skin, at least that what I have been told ☺

Makeup is an area where I tend to use chic and cheap because there is not a lot of difference and I replace these items faster so I may not want to spend as much money on the high-priced products. Foundation is always chic, so I can match the color with my skin tone and not have to guess if the shade is right for me. I love my Smashbox BB Cream and MAC powder. I use everything for eye shadow and lipstick; Big Girl Cosmetics, Boots and Covergirl are my brands of choice. Mascara is expensive, when I have purchased inexpensive, I had to use 3 types of mascara to get the look of 1. Tarte is my go to!!!

Body products are an area where I use everything because I just want to be clean and smell good…LOL

Overall, it comes down to preference, features and benefits for me. Chic doesn’t always mean better and cheap doesn’t always mean bad. I suggest you investigate before you invest and check out some product reviews before you buy. Women who use makeup usually make mistakes in their choice. Now that’s right kind of products! Would love to try. Thanks for sharing!
